It’s never easy to come back to winter in Chicago after vacationing in the Caribbean, so this week hasn’t been my favorite. That said, the weather has luckily been mild and I was able to break up the week with drinks and appetizers at Fulton Market Kitchen, so it wasn’t all bad. I was quite impressed with Fulton Market Kitchen, by the way. They made a great Manhattan–not too sweet–served up some tasty bites. I’d order the chicken satay skewers in a heartbeat, or the apple butter grilled cheese.
This weekend is likely to be a quiet one for us. We’ll be doing some planning for our next trips–Las Vegas and a big tour of the western National Parks this fall.
You might have noticed that I updated the layout of the blog. I’d love to hear what you think!
Have a great weekend!
> I definitely need to try this belted coat style hack that Kate Middleton has been rocking.
> Have a look at just how much sugar is really in “healthy” foods. Read your labels, ladies.
> Charming Charlie’s newest bags are gorgeous and wonderfully affordable. At the top of my list is nude woven minaudiere, this light blue printed dome satchel, and this straw tote that would be perfect for the beach.
> Here are five things you need to have tucked away at the office to solve any fashion emergency. The most important of these is definitely the heels and the clutch–you never know when you might head straight from work to drinks.
> This Moroccan print two-tone floaty cardigan is absolutely sublime.
> I’ve added The Last Girl to my reading list–it covers the story of a future in which, due to some inexplicable cause, the birth rate of women drops drastically. It explores what the world is like with only 1,000 women left. Interesting.
> This sephora lipstick looks good on everyone. I definitely need to pick up a tube.
> Despite just getting back from the islands, I’ve still got my eye on resortwear. I love this mint dress that shows a peep of skin, and this navy and white striped off the shoulder dress.
> This sea otter cuddling her baby may literally be the cutest thing I’ve ever seen.
