My husband, whose twitter feed includes updates about various stocks and financial happenings, informed me of something very sad while we sipped post-breakfast coffee this past weekend: The Limited is closing its doors. I’ve poked around the internet for more news on the subject, but things are still a bit nebulous at this point. What is certain is that The Limited is closing all of its brick-and-mortar retail locations. Whether or not they’ll continue to have some manner of presence online is unclear.
So, it is with a heavy heart that I share with you this fabulous sheath dress from their Eva Longoria collection, which I purchased during last fall’s Black Friday sales.
Since it seems unlikely that you’ll be able to consider this specific dress for purchase, let’s talk, instead, about the outfit in general. Sheath dresses such as this one are the ultimate closet staple when it comes to workwear. They can be dressed down for the office, then amped up for a night of post-work cocktails. This particular one is about as tight as I would ever recommend. If you’re going for tight, be sure to tone down the sexiness by choosing a longer length and/or pairing it with a chunky caridgan or blazer as I’ve done here.
Isn’t this blazer fantastic? I love that it’s a bit oversized so it adds a casual flair to the overall look. Working in a creative office like I do, I’m always trying to balance professional, tailored pieces with more casual items. This blazer is the perfect go between. Luckily, H&M regularly stocks items such as this at reasonable prices. Have a look below:
