When I wasn’t in a bikini, I lived in maxi dresses in a Hawaii. Forget diamonds, a good jersey maxi is a girl’s best friend.
Why do I love maxis so much? For starters, you can roll out of bed, throw one on, and be perfectly comfy in the morning chill. It got down into the 60s at night while we were in Hawaii, and that’s cool enough to require more than just a sundress. Many of my mornings were spent reading on the lanai just like this.
My favorite breakfast? Greek yogurt and local fruit. You can’t beat bananas and pineapple when you’re in Hawaii.
If your vacation is in near the beach, then there’s something you’ll have to face: bugs. Mosquitos, midges, and sand fleas love to come out around dusk. Luckily, a flowy maxi skirt can easily keep them away from your ankles. And if you’re away from the beach, like we were, a maxi will keep away the evening’s chill.
I found this maxi at Nordstrom Rack for under $20 just a few days before our trip (when I’d given up on everything I had previously ordered online). I think I’ll be a Rack customer for life, after this.
This maxi paired well with rose gold accessories. I love rose gold, though I have far too few rose gold peices in my jewelry box. Something to work on, I suppose.
