One of my favorite tank tops, a cornerstone of my summer capsule wardrobe, has a hole in it. Sadness. This week I went on a quest to replace it. After exhausting my usual stores, an alternate popped into my head: Anthropologie.
Anthropologie is the kind of store I never gave much thought to after the first time I walked in and saw the outrageous price tags. Thankfully, my sensibilities have changed. Now that I’m working on a capsule wardrobe of quality items meant to last, Anthropologie is right up my alley.
I spent one of my lunch breaks this week at the Anthro on State Street poking at their wares. When I came to this tank top I immediately knew I had found a gem. The material is nice and thick–thick enough to be entirely opaque. I know. What tank top is ever opaque anymore? I even tried on the all white one, just for posterity’s sake, and I couldn’t see my bra through it. Queue the hallelujah music.
I ended up purchasing this tank and another one in blue stripe to replace another tank top that was getting worn in the capsule. I also tried on this dress, but found that it was unfortunately very see-through, which was surprising given its $100+ price tag. I guess the moral of the story is that Anthropologie has some gems, but to be wary all the same.
