I found this gorgeous nude lace skirt on consignment the same day I found the floral fit-and-flare dress I featured last week. Nude is such a perfect hue for spring–you can pair it with soft pastel colors to create a feminine, delicate outfit.
One of the small fashion-oriented indulgences I like to spend some time on each week is matching my nails to outfits I plan on wearing. In this outfit, I’ve matched my nails (Cake Pop by Vinylux) to my top. It’s a nice subtle way to really pull things together–something that I enjoy more than probably anyone else, because it’s a detail that most people might overlook. Feeling confident about my outfits by perfecting small details like this gives me a feeling of subtle confidence.
Oh, and by the way, in case you’re wondering about Vinylux, I can confirm that it lasts a full week sans chipping as advertised. In fact, last week my manicure lasted a full 8 days. Impressive.
I have to admit that this was a chilly shoot for me. I would wear an outfit like this indoors at work during April, but not out in the chilly Chicago winds. To pull the whole look together, I’d wear a classic trench like this one from Banana Republic and a nice soft matching pastel scarf like this soft pink option.
