Hello! I hope you had a wonderful Thanksgiving (if you live in the US) and that the holiday season hasn’t been too stressful so far. This year I’m looking to take a slower approach to things, by which I mean focusing more on presence over presents and keeping things as calm as possible for the month of December. And in terms of the presents I do give, I’d like them to be thoughtful and meaningful, which is why I’m very happy to be sharing this post featuring Landon Lacey, a local Chicago jewelry maker, with you today.
Landon Lacey is a Chicago-based jewelry maker that uses high quality gemstones and 14k gold and gold fill to make their pieces. They specialize in necklaces–long pendants and dainty layered strands–and each piece is handmade right here in the Windy City. If you have someone on your list this year who might like a delicate necklace or a striking pendant, Landon Lacey is a great place to start looking.
Landon Lacey generously provided this necklace for me to review–they actually hand delivered it. Talk about service! I’ve been wearing it frequently since I recieved it a few weeks ago and I can report that I’ve gotten tons of compliments on it. The turquoise color is just lovely.
I like that unlike most layered necklaces I’ve purchased or considered, this one is actually three seperate necklaces, so I can wear them in any configuration I’d like. I think all three go together quite well as a statement piece and one on its own is nice for simpler daily wear.

Part of my slow holiday this year will involve a reduction in shopping–particularly in buying specialty and seasonal items to wear. In the last few years I went on shopping bonanzas each holiday season for festive scarves, tights, and jewelry. Come December 26th, all of those items inevitably get shoved to the back of my closet/jewelry box until the next year. This year I’ve decided to stop the overconsumption, so I will be re-wearing old pieces and refraining from buying new ones. This dress is a wintery/Christmasy piece that I like to wear at this time of year. I last featured it here, if you’d like to see it styled a touch more festively.
