I’ve been obsessed with shirt dresses of late. I found this one at Target several weeks ago and it inspired me to go on the hunt for classic shirt dresses. A good shirt dress is the perfect closet staple–it can be dressed up or down, it always looks classy, and its flattering on almost any body type. In the last few weeks I’ve added plaid, chambray, fuchsia, and retro green shirt dresses to my wardrobe in addition to this one, and I can’t wait to share them with you.
A few posts ago I expounded on the merits of clutches as the perfect accessory, so I was particularly happy when mywalit reached out to me to feature this bright little clutch. It’s made out of nice, high-quality leather and is mercifully light thanks to a nylon interior. Too often I find that higher end handbags and clutches are just too darn heavy. When I’m lugging around a laptop, workout clothes, my lunch, and other essentials on the average weekday the last thing I want is a heavy wristlet or handbag dragging me down. And in addition to being bright and light, this little clutch is surprisingly roomy–it holds all of my credit cards and essentials, phone, and even my keys easily.
I’ve been getting more into brighter, bolder lip color lately. I think it feels right for fall, and I like how bold a bright lip like this is. For the moment, I’m sticking with my trusty Burt’s Bees lipsticks. This is Ruby Ripple, which I quite like. I’m considering picking up Brimming Berry as well.
Sole Society has quickly become my favorite shoe retailer. Despite their crumby return policy–they only offer store credit for some items and don’t take any returns on sale items–their shoes are so cute and affordable that I find myself making more and more shoe purchases there. My strategy is to try on shoes I like before they go on sale so I can determine my size, then return them. Then when they go on sale I make my purchase and their Draconian no-return policy isn’t an issue. I purchased these kitten heels that way. Isn’t the print great? The other thing I like that Sole Society does is release the same shoes in different colors and prints, so you can easily be assured of your size. These kitten-heeled pumps come in a number of fabulous prints.
