As it does for nearly everyone, Tiffany & Co. connotes a pie-eyed, elite level of romanticism for both myself and my fiance. Obviously this can be attributed in large part to Holly Golightly and her breakfast, but it also is because Tiffany really does carry quality products and we felt confident that we could rely on them to provide the kind of high quality rings we’ve been looking for.

We stopped in at the Tiffany’s at the Oak Brook mall this past weekend while we were there for a totally separate photo shoot. After trying on many different rings–I really didn’t know exactly what I wanted when I walked in–we landed on the perfect one. It’s not quite the ring you see here, but it’s close. The only difference is that my ring will be an eternity band–meaning the diamonds go all the way around.

I’ll be trying on the real thing in a few weeks when it comes in. In the meantime, I’ve been getting some of my other wedding-related ducks in a row. I finally got around to finding the perfect garter and related intimates. I was pretty disappointing with the lingerie and garter selection I found at nearly ever retailer I looked at. The Victoria’s Secret’s bridal line is all but discontinued, and the collections at Macy’s and Nordstrom were both expensive and decidedly snooze-worthy. The best selections I found were at BHLD and Hanky Panky, which is where I bought what I needed.

I also finally nailed down the jewelry I will be wearing with my dress. It was a bit of a struggle. I wasn’t quite sure what I wanted, other than that I wanted pearls, and I didn’t know where to start. After talking with the fiance about it I decided now would be a great time to buy a quality set of pearls that I can wear for the rest of my life. Since my dress was $150, I might as well splurge a bit on the parts of the outfit that are reusable, right? After a good chunk of research I decided a really great set of freshwater pearls were just the ticket, and I purchased this set from Pearl Paradise (which had lots of good reviews around the internet). They’ll arrive soon and I’ll let you know what I think.
