A good shirtdress really is the ultimate closet staple. It can be dressed up or down. You can wear it to work, on a trip, to a party, wherever. Pair it with a plaid scarf and you’ve nailed fall style. Pair it with tights and boots and you’ve got winter. Pastels and you’ve got spring. You get the idea.
I was fortunate enough to be invited up to explore Traverse City last week, and I chose this shirtdress for our tour of the Old Mission Peninsula and its many wineries. Wine tasting, in my opinion, requires an outfit with a bit of class, and I think a shirtdress is the perfect choice. I’ll be covering our tour in full detail in a travel diary soon, but for now, lets talk fashion.
If my lauding of the shirtdress as the perfect garment for almost any occasion has won you over, then let me suggest a few great options to add to your wardrobe, all less than $75 dollars: plaid, fit-and-flare, classic denim, printed, and windowpane.
New York and Company isn’t a retailer you often see on the blogger circuit, and there’s a very good, (though hush hush) reason for that, which I’m happy to disclose: they don’t participate in any affiliate linking programs. Despite this, they’re decidedly one of my favorite retailers, so I’m not shying away from promoting them to you. Their fall line up is just insanely good. Seriously I want to buy nearly everything in the store–though I’m working on containing myself. Have a look at their new arrivals and see if you agree.
