Picking out bikinis might be my favorite part of planning any trip to the Caribbean. Currently, I’m obsessed with the colorblock trend–it’s so bright and sporty! But I also like going for classic looks like stripes.
At first I had my heart set on a triangl swimsuit, but after poking around the internet and finding out that they charge ridiculous rates for shipping and are pretty much unreturnable, I decided to look elsewhere. Luckily, I found that Victoria Secret’s current swim line is chock full of colorblock bikinis.
Sadly, I didn’t really like any of Victoria’s Secrets current line on me. That said, I did find this colorblock suit on clearance–it’s from last year’s line–and it fits like a dream. Plus, I love the soft pink and sherbert orange hues. I knew it was a keeper immediately, and it was way discounted. Score.
After that, I headed to my mainstay for swimwear: Target. I love that it’s affordable and that their suits tend not to be too skimpy. I fell in love with this striped bikini and the strappy bottoms you’ll see below. Keeping your options open with bikinis is always important, so I try to keep mine in colors that are interchangable.

I think watching the sun set on the beach is one of my favorite things in life. Every night on our trip I was somewhere near the ocean just watching the clouds and waves turn pink. I know it sounds cliche, but sometimes things are cliche for a reason.

I really do love the colorblock trend in bikinis. In addition to the one I’m wearing, I also really love this light blue and pink halter, this unique pink and maroon halter and striped bottom, and this sporty mesh colorblock bikini.

I found this cover up for my trip to Las Vegas last year. I think the palm print is really classy and the kaftan shape has a nice casual look to it. Plus, it was super cheap, which I think is pretty important for a garment thats going to be getting wet and stashed in a beach bag with sunscreen and all kinds of other stuff. Some other cute options I found include this pineapple print kaftan cover up, this white mesh coverup, and this starfish print kaftan cover up.

Target will forever be my go-to for inexpensive swimwear. Sadly, most of their swimsuits I really liked this year were halters, which I can’t wear due to my neck injury. I particularly liked this colorblock bikini, this sporty triangle bikini, and this floral triangle bikini. Maybe those of you who can wear halters can take advantage of these adorable suits!

I love the colour block bikini lovely and your post has got me super excited for my holidays at the end of the year!

Thanks, Rakel! Stripes always seem like a good classic choice, so I went with one bold bikini and one classic bikini.
These bikinis are gorgeous no doubt! I love the first one, most especially, since I have a bias for bandeau tops.
